Why SNL is One of My Favorite TV Shows of All Time!

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

Number of Seasons: 38 (1975-Present)

Now that I’m old and seldom out on a Saturday past 8:00pm — I get my entertainment fix by watching SNL each week at 11:30pm. Over the years the show has become old dependable for me. I love watching the show to see what future comedy superstars will emerge from the Not-Ready-For-Prime-Time-Players. Virtually every comedic star in Hollywood has Saturday Night Live to thank for their fame and careers.

The lengthy list includes: Chevy Chase (arguably the shows first breakout star), Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, the late great John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, the gone but never forgotten Chris Farley, Will Farrell, Kristen Wiig, Amy Pohler, and Tina Fey — just to name a tiny few of the funny people who have graced the stage in Studio 7H.
Now celebrating it’s 38th season, Saturday Night Live is showing no signs of slowing up anytime soon. Some seasons, episodes, casts, and sketches are better than others; and some are topical and thus get dated very quickly.

But regardless, I tune in each-and-every week to get my laugh on!
