Created by: Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo
First Appearance: Brave and the Bold # 200 (July 1983)
Secret Identity: Gabrielle Doe (Violet Harper)
Team Affiliations: The Outsiders
Powers: Halo is an alien entity known as Aurakle from another realm that has powerful light amplifying powers when joined with a human vessel. She has the ability to manifest and maintain glowing auras of energy from different colors of the the spectrum. The light’s color gives Halo a different and distinct power when she switches from from one to another. When using her light powers, it creates a “halo effect” which emanates around her, allowing her to fly. Each of the following colors allow Halo a different power set: Red: Heat Blast, Orange: Force Blast; Yellow: Brilliant Light; Green: Stasis Beam; Blue: Distortion Effect; Indigo: Tractor Beam; Violet: all of the power’s combined – this is a dangerous combination as it creates a sociopathic personality which takes control of her body.

Halo is a long-standing member of the superhero team The Outsiders. When she first arrived on Earth she was suffering from amnesia and was perceived as a minor. Fellow teammate Katana became her guardian. She has reverted back and forth from time-to-time to her more aggressive Violet Harper personae when using all of her powers at once.

Why She Should Be Showcased?

With her various light amplified powers and alien heritage, Halo could have good story potential in the Green Lantern Universe. By harnessing all of the powers of the emotional spectrum (as well as her violent split-personality when using all of the powers at once), Halo could be a great associate and liaison for all of the various Colored Ring Corps. Plus she’s cute and sprite-like.
